Top 10 weirdest cricket record held by players
Cricket is a very interesting and popular game and it is full of various type of records like 100 centuries of Sachin Tendulkar, 800 test wickets of Muralidharan but some records are made unintentionally. Today we will see some of these records.
Top 10 weirdest cricket record held by players
1. Shortest Six in Cricket.
The Pakistani former captain and wicket-keeper batsman Rashid Latif surprised everyone with taking six runs against Sri Lanka by smashing the smallest six of Cricket history. Didn't even care about crossing the boundaries. All he did, was a flick to the ball, it bounced over the head of the keeper hitting the helmet and he got 5 runs from hitting the helmet and 1 from running. How easy and innovative skill!
2. Shortest Test Match.
In 1932, a Test match was held between AUS vs SA. This was the quickest test match win in history. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first, the team were dismissed for 36 runs in the first innings in 23.2 overs. Then Australia took the lead and eventually won the match by innings & 72 runs in Melbourne. This match was completed in 5 hours and 53 minutes and it is a very interesting record.

4. Debut at 49.
It is said to be the most shocking record in cricket history. An English batsman, James Southerton made his test debut at the age of 49 against Australia at MCG and he is known for playing only 2 test matches in his career.
5. 3 Dismissals in 24 Hours.
Pakistani batsman Umar Akmal is known for his weird record of dismissing thrice within 24 hours. In the last match of Pakistan vs England T-20 series he got dismissed 3 times, he couldn't do much with the bat and scored 4 from 9 balls. But as the fate would happen the match ended a draw and a super over was played and surprisingly Umar Akmal was chosen to deliver the batting afresh where later he got dismissed again.
6. Most Runs in an Over of Tests.
A legendary figure, English pacer James Anderson has a weird despised record. In the Ashes series, England James Anderson made most runs in an over of a Test Match. George Bailey was the batsman on the distinct side and smashed 28 runs in Anderson's over.
7. Longest Over in Cricket.
Bowling involves an easy task to throw a ball at a particular area and place your foot behind the crease. Repeating this process six times completes an over. But, seventeen balls to finish off an over is slight of an understatement and Mohammad Sami executed the excruciating task of bowling to that many deliveries. In 2004, a match against West Indies, Sami gave away 7 no balls and 4 wides to finish an over.
8. Most Runs Conceded without Bowling a Single Legal Delivery.
In a match against Bangladesh in Asia Cup 2014. Pakistani left-hand spinner Abdul Rehman has registered the bowling figures 0-0-8-0, i.e. zero over, zero maidens, 8 runs, and zero wickets. He holds the record of giving away the maximum runs in an international match across formats without bowling a single legal delivery.
9. Most Bowled in Test History.
Rahul Dravid is a former Indian cricketer and ironically he holds a record of being bowled the most times (55 times) and he has played 173 innings consecutively in international matches without scoring a Duck. We must admit he played pretty decent bowler, if you can breach the wall you are good!
South African spinner, Imran Tahir is known for the Adelaide Test against Australia where he bowled 37 overs for 269 runs and didn't pick up a single wicket. These are the worst bowling figures in Test Match History.
