As the day of WTC final is coming closer we all are excited to see who will be the champion of inaugural edition of World Test Championship. Team India's journey to the finals is nothing less than a roller coaster ride as it saw many ups an downs from 36 all out to breach of fortress of Gaba.

1. Rohit Sharma: 161(231) vs ENG - Chennai - February 2021
This innings surely deserves a place at top because it ensured the place of India in WTC finals.
After loosing first test match of series against England at Chennai it was necessary for India to win at least 2 matches and to draw 1 match to reach finals and then came this rock solid innings of Rohit which can also be termed as his best innings of test carrier. He along with Ajinkya gave India a large total in first innings on the drastic pitch of Chennai which was hell for batsmen and led India to win the match and later the series.
2. Ajinkya Rahane: 112(223) vs AUS - Melbourne - Dec 2020
After getting all out at 36 and departure of captain Virat no one was expecting India to win the series but jinx was determined and led the team from front and bounced back with a hundred at MCG that make all the critics silent and laid the way to a dream victory in Border Gavaskar Trophy that made it easy for team to reach WTC finals.
3. Rishabh Pant: 89*(138) vs AUS - Brisbane- Jan 2021
Rishabh Spiderman Pant was on the crease after the departure of captain Rahane in this match and it was totally dependent on him that what would be the fate of India in the match and Rishabh decided that India will win and played a dream innings that helped India clinch victory and also breached the gaba fortress. This innings still gives chill vibes to all cricket fans.
4. Shubman Gill: 91(146) vs Aus- Brisbane- Jan 2021
On the last day of last test match of prestigious Border gavaskar Trophy India was chasing a target of 328 runs and at the start of day all fans were thinking that a draw will be win for India but young and fierce Gill had his own Plans who was just playing his third test match. He smashed 17 runs in an over of Mitchell Starc that showed what was in his mind. His 91 run innings laid the foundation of India's epic victory at Gaba.
5. Virat Kohli: 254*(336) vs SA- Pune- October 2019
Virat scored a mammoth double hundred against SA on the pitch of pune that was claimed to be as equal as the conditions in south Africa but virat was in an another mood. He smashed the fierce attack of Rabada, Nortje and Phillander all over the park and scored an epic double century that laid the foundation of India's dram run in world test championship.
