Top 10 ODI Innings Of Decade 2010-2020

 The decade 2010-20 witnessed some of the best innings in history of cricket. Not only some 100 or 200 but a match saving 70–80 can be also the best.

Lets take a look at some .(These are purely my opinions)

10. Kevin o brein vs England (113 off 63)

Ireland has always been heavy on English players

England, 2011 WC batted first and set a target of 328

Ireland was the underdogs and had 62 for 2

Out came Kevin to bat and boy we witnessed something from the man

His 50 balls 100 is still the fastest century in WC . Although he got run out but Ireland finished the match with 5 balls left and 3 wickets in hand

9. Virat Kohli vs Sri Lanka(133 off 86)

One of the best innings while chasing from the King of Chases

Lanka courtesy TK Dilshan and Sangakara set a huge score of 320

India didn't get a good start so what?

King Kohli stitched a partnership with Gautam and targeted Malinga constantly and took India home easily without any sweat in 36.4 overs

8. Yuvraj Singh vs WI (113 off 123)

A normal WC innings nothing special. So why is it here?

Because he fought cancer and played it

He literally vommited while playing. Supported by Virat his innings helped India to 268 for 10 in a hot Chepauk Stadium

7. Here we have a joint innings

Martin Guptill vs WI(237 off 163)

The Wellington Pitch saw a Blizzard named M.Guptill who literally on his own finished the WI

He didn't need any support from other batsmen. He was literally in an another world playing that sort of innings on a big stage like world Cup. 

His innings set a target for WI of 393

Wi were never in the hunt and they could manage only 250 allowing NZ to advance. 

ABD vs WI(162 off 66)

It was a normal match of WC 2015 in SCG

Windies especially Jason Holder was in great touch of bowling that day

De Cock went cheaply but Faf and Amla scored in 60s

Out came Rillee and Abd to bat . Little did WI knew that an ABD storm will hit them.

 ABD literally showed WI stars in the day especially MR HOLDER . A 100 to 150 in 12 balls is still the fastest 150 .

What made everyone shocked was that AB almost hit all of Holder’s balls in a lap shot

6. Sachin Tendulkar vs RSA ( 200 off 147 )

A match in Gwalior

Tendulkar came in his own mode and started the innings. 

Little did anyone know that they were going to witness the first ever double hundred in International Cricket. 

He gradually didn't need any support from the other end and just single handedly devastated RSA bowling lineup. 

RSA didn't give up though because AB Devilliers remained not out 114 but the day belonged to Indians and especially God of Cricket. 

5. Virat Kohli vs Pak(183 off 148)

Pak batted first and set a huge target of 329. Sachin Tendulkar’s last match it was and who better can give him a perfect farewell than his successor himself. Virat was in a killer mode that day. He missed out on a well deserved 200 that day but Pak knew after that who is VIRAT KOHLI. 

4. Gautam Gambhir (97 off 122)

We all know this knock don't we? A billion dreams were hung on him and boy didn't he respond. Truly underrated knock of this decade. 

After the dismissal of Master Blaster Wankhede Stadium was witnessing pin drop silence but then came Gautam and he played probably the best innings of his life time and ensured that India will win it's 2nd World Cup. 

3. Here also we have a joint innings

ABD vs WI (149 off 43)

I'

ABD was nervous that day

Yes he was so nervous that he tripped on the staircase of his dressing room and fell(told in autobiography)

The WI must have thought that He would get out cheaply . Little did they know that Superman pf cricket was about to smash them all over the ground. 

The world witnessed an alienated storm then. 

Despite Amla and Rilee scoring centuries AB took away the lime light from them . He scored a 50 in 17 balls and 100 in 31 balls shattering the record books. This is till the fastest 100 and 50 in ODI innings.

Rohit Sharma vs Sri Lanka( 264 off 173)

 We know what happens when HITMAN blazes fire. 

But after this innings of Rohit he proved it. He was in totally different mood that day. He thrashed the opposition and made the record of making highest individual score In ODI cricket a record that seems to be unbreakable in coming decades also. 

2. MS Dhoni (91 off 79) Vs Sri Lanka



"Dhoni finishes of in style. India lifts the world cup after 28 years.. ". Ravi Shastri spoke these words after MSD played the innings of his lifetime. 

MS first with Gautam and then with Yuvi finished the match and sealed the world cup for India. Twist was that all fans were expecting Yuvi to come at no. 5 but MS bravely promoted himself up the order to counter right arm spin of Muralidharan and took responsibility on his own soldiers and in end finished the match as he always does . 


1. Benjamin Stokes ( 84 off 98 ) Vs Newzealand

An under-pressure Ben Stokes went for a smoke break as he calmed nerves before the Super Over of the 2019 World Cup final against New Zealand at Lord's. Stokes then almost dragged England home scoring an unbeaten 84 but the hosts were bowled out for 241 in 50 overs with the final heading to Super Over. And we know what happened after that
